It was a bit over 10 years ago when Beth's mother announced that her daughters would be hosting a big party to celebrate her 70th birthday. It was a fantastic weekend at White Point Beach Resort just outside her home in Nova Scotia with an as usual great meal in Shelburne at Charlotte Lane. I think there were about 25 at dinner, and 100+ at the evening party!
Well, it's 10 years later, so we knew something would be needed. Luckily, Beth's sister and husband solved the problem by proposing a trip to Hawaii. We "reluctantly" agreed, and will be off for a week later this month! Other than a night in Honolulu, and the rest of the time staying in Lahaina on Maui, I'm not sure what's planned. As with most trips with Beth's family, there will be lots of good cooking and plentiful wine.
I'll try to post regularly with a few photos and updates on what we're doing. This will also be a good blogging test in preparation of our upcoming big trip!
